Hi Everyone, my name is Eric. My brother Michael is currently serving in the U.S. ARMY fighting in Iraq. This Holiday doesn’t seem to be the same since he left us back in October. I’m just not in the “Holiday Spirit.”
Michael is doing a wonderful thing, serving his Country, and protecting us from harm. I’m proud to say I have a brother who is a U.S. Solider. There are no braver men out there, than our troops fighting in Iraq. Without them, we would not be able to get up each morning and go about our lives in a normal manner.
The Holidays this year just don’t seem the same. I’m not into the shopping part nor listening to the music playing on the radio. I’m majoring in Broadcast Journalism at Quinnipiac University. I really don’t watch the news because I don’t want to hear about the car bombings and other killings happening over seas.i know that must seem odd, he’s a journalist, but aviods the news. I try not think about all of that. However, some how all of this comes to mind and diminishes the meaning of the up coming Holiday’s essence.
What should I celebrate?
Am I wrong for the way I feel?
